Recently someone asked me if I knew of any good core exercises that won’t hurt the lower back. I think that is a great question. Many times the genesis of a lower back injury can be an imbalance. We tend to focus our exercises on what we can see, in this case our six pack abs. In the process we tend to neglect our backs,which can cause an imbalance and lead to injury. The five exercises I will go over in this blog will strengthen your abs as well as your lower back. These exercises are primarily stabilization exercises. They require slow controlled movements and a great deal of focus. When starting these exercises I recommend 5-8 reps 1-2 sets. The following video will explain each exercise in detail.
