George Clinton, Jr., the son of Funk music pioneer George Clinton, was found dead in his apartment in Tallahassee on Monday (2/1). The Medical examiner’s office says that Clinton Jr. died of natural causes, but they have yet to release any additional information.
After not seeing him for a few days, the maintenance man went inside his apartment to check on him and found him dead. Apparently, he had been dead for a couple of days. The Leon County Sheriff’s Office was then notified. When they arrived at Plantations at Pine Lake apartments where Clinton Jr. lived, they discovered his body. Clinton Jr.’s body was identified and taken to the morgue.
George Clinton is the founder of the legendary group Parliament and Funkadelic and also a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The 68-year old musician was notified of his son’s death by friends of the family.
