DETROIT, Mich. — The father of a fugitive wanted on an attempted murder charge is urging his son to surrender to police.

Police said Akeem Antoine Armstead fired shots last year at a vehicle carrying his ex-girlfriend and children. No one was injured in the incident.

Akeem’s father, William Armstead, said he hopes his son will turn himself in soon.

“I’m worried about him being killed or seriously hurt, family, children, there’s a number of things going through my mind and I know it’s going through his, too,” Armstead said.

Detectives from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department said Akeem Armstead is considered armed and dangerous, but hope he will turn himself in peacefully.
