Senator, Kamala Harris took to social media Monday to announce that she will be running for President in 2020. Harris states in her campaign video, “Justice. Decency. Equality. Freedom. Democracy. These aren’t just words. They’re the values we as Americans cherish. And they’re all on the line now.”

Harris is the first African American woman to announce a run for President in 2020. She is also the second African American woman to be elected to the U.S. Senate, and the first African American and first woman to serve as Attorney General of the state of California.
