Today for one day kids at one of Detroit’s biggest high school will give up their cell phones.They will disconnect so that troops can stay connected.

If service men and women can give up their phones for  weeks and months at a time while they serve our country, the students feel like they can do it for one day.

As soon as the students arrive to school they’ll be asked to give up their phones.  Those phones collected will be organized and protected throughout the day.

For every phone collected, the leadership students donate a dollar to the non-profit Cell Phones  for Soldiers .  So far they have raised $15,000.00.  Cell Phones for Soldiers provides minutes and calling cards soldiers to call home.
