Pastor Mo will be performing LIVE at Women’s Empowerment Expo on Saturday, August 25th!
Maurice L. Hardwick, also known as Pastor Mo and the “Street Sweeper”, has made several appearances on the Reality television show, Preachers of Detroit. He is the founding Pastor of the Body of Believers Outreach Ministry which has been active for the past nine years, as well as the founder of the L.I.P. (Live in Peace Movement) that was founded in 2014. Pastor Mo is also a community activist; he not only stands for peace but for all social injustice. Pastor Mo has worked with many City Officials such as the Chief of Police, James Craig as well as the Mayor of Detroit, Mike Duggan and also with City Council President Brenda Jones and Council members. Pastor Mo & the LIP Movement are very active in the community, mentoring the Youth, feeding the homeless, bridging the gap between the community and the police, and promoting peace. He has hosted hundreds of prayer vigils, marches for peace and eulogized many who have lost their life to violence. His call and heart is the youth, he has been called upon by many to speak, encourage and share life situations to inner city youth. He has a way of speaking the language that the youth can understand and relate to.
Pastor Mo has also served as Chaplin for incarcerated youth, Retool aftercare for wayward youth and as Spiritual Director. He has mentored hundreds of high school children in the DPS systems. Even going as far as walking the hall ways himself to bring peace on the schools’ grounds. He has led & participated in many nonviolence Youth Rally’s with the Detroit Public School System and truly has a heart for helping inner city youth.
Pastor Mo has a love for music and feels the youth is influenced a lot by the negative rap music that the youth is exposed to. He decided to start his own record label, God Mafia Records. With his cutting edge persona and thought process he came up with the meaning, Gods family, to create positive music (Holy Hip Hop) with banging beats that not only the youth can relate to but the thug who doesn’t know God can relate to as well to draw them to God thru rap. He also has a newly established program called, “Trouble to Trade”, training troubled youth and young adults in job readiness, as well as spiritual, physical and psychological preparation for apprenticeships and job placement.
Pastor Mo also hosts “The Detroit Stand Up Show with Pastor Mo” on 910am The Superstation, his community activism through radio and internet streaming. He tackles very important and difficult issues in the community and worldwide, bringing light into dark places of the political, religious, hip hop industry, corporate business and Metro Detroit communities focusing more on Detroit.
