In celebration of Women’s History Month, UAW Ford is recognizing women who have used their power to fight for equality!
UAW Ford recognizes Robin Terry –
Robin Terry has devoted the past two decades to proudly carrying the torch for one of Detroit’s most notable entrepreneurial families, The Gordys…and it has been her dedicated commitment that has fueled her to function to preserve the legacy of the iconic brand of “Motown.”
Robin is the Chairwoman and CEO for The Motown Museum, a cultural gem founded in the City of Detroit in 1985 by her grandmother, the late Esther Gordy Edwards. Mrs. Edwards was a senior executive at Motown Records and sister of Motown founder, Berry Gordy Jr. Robin’s mission is to continue to build on her grandmother’s vision to tell the authentic story of Motown by expanding the creative magnet of Motown to inevitably help transform neighborhood communities. Mrs. Terry believes that Motown magnifies what is best about Detroiters and tells a story of resilience, persistence, and displays the power of creative synergy.
With her continued work and dedication to the preservation of its rich and rewarding history, Motown Museum will continue to serve as a beacon in the community that can inspire the entrepreneurial and creative spirit for generations to come…… all while doing so in its originally founded neighborhood location on West Grand Blvd.
