With 85 percent of the votes in early Wednesday morning, Tawanna Simpson was seventh with 3.17 percent of the vote. Other leaders were Angelique Peterson-Mayberry, at 4.45 percent; Georgia Lemmons, a certified teacher who was not on the board, with 4.24 percent, Iris Taylor, at 3.78 percent; Misha Stallworth, the youngest candidate to run at 27, at 3.54 percent; Sonya Mays, at 3.47 percent, and Deborah Hunter-Harville, at 3.22 percent.

There were 63 candidates for seven seats.
