Earlier it was reported that producerTimbaland reneged on a charity performance after a Detroit club did not provide him with the right alcohol. According to the reports, the promoter said that he booked Timbaland to DJ for 30-minutes and then performing five to eight songs. Instead, after the club did not meet his demands of 2 bottles of Ace Of Spades, the promoter says Tim just stood in front of the stage as the DJ spun some tracks. The event was organized to help raise funds for residents of Flint but according to Timbaland, it was inaccurately promoted to say that he was performing, when that was not what was agreed upon. “Unfortunately, the statement made by the promoter in Detroit is simply not true,” a rep says in a statement. “Timbaland is an extremely generous person who agreed to a much lower fee for this event to raise money for the Flint, Michigan‘s water crisis. The promoter was fully aware that this was not a full band performance on stage, yet still promoted it as such. The club was still able to raise money for charity, which was our goal in doing this event all along.” The club was able to raise $3,000 that night. The money will go towards buying bottles of water and filters for Flint residents.
