If you know a child who loves to dance, leap, spin and tumble or one who needs to be more physically active, then Rhythmic Gymnastics may be the sport for her.  Sign her up for one of Oakland Rhythmic Gymnastics (ORG) winter introductory classes beginning throughout the month of January.

The girls will learn the basics of Rhythmic Gymnastics, an Olympic sport where dance-inspired routines are performed to music incorporating various hand apparatus including the ball, ribbon, hoop, and jump rope. All classes promote the safe development of flexibility, strength, and coordination for girls in a fun and progressive setting.

Several different introductory classes for girls in grades K-5 are offered Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Saturdays at various locations within the Bloomfield Hills School District.  Rising Stars introductory classes are offered for girls in grades 4-8. For girls who have prior experience in dance or gymnastics, please inquire about our Pre-Team, invitation-only, classes for grades 1-5.

Classes run through May 31, 2016.  The girls perform a show for parents on the last day of the session. Rhythmic apparatus is provided.

All introductory classes are taught by college-educated, USA Gymnastics professionally-certified coaches.  In addition to over 30 years of combined teaching experience in rhythmic gymnastics and/or dance, the coaches have personally competed on a regional, national, and/or international level. The same staff who teach the introductory classes also coach the ORG competitive classes of nationally ranked individual and group gymnasts.

To register for the classes, email Karyn Glover, ORG Program Director, at
