Luckily for the Pistons, they own the Wizards.

Faced with tying the franchise record for consecutive losses, the Pistons moved to 3-0 on the season against the Wizards and former coach Flip Saunders with a 99-90 victory Tuesday night.

The sense of relief was thick in the air of the visitors’ locker room at the Verizon Center.

“Oh, man, it felt like forever,” Charlie Villanueva said of the month-long skid. “I’m so glad we were able to pull this win out today.

“Especially on the road, we’ve been struggling pretty bad. Overall, it was just a good win.”

Villanueva was the main beneficiary of a balanced Detroit attack that had good ball movement and produced 23 assists.

The power forward contributed 23 points, nine rebounds and five triples — the last one coming after two offensive rebounds to give the Pistons a seven-point lead with 5:10 remaining.

“That gave us breathing room, so I thought that was huge for us,” Pistons coach John Kuester said.

Antawn Jamison had 31 points and 10 rebounds for the Wizards.
