With the holiday season approaching fast, it’s good to know that we have organizations in Detroit to help those who may be in need!

The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit, a nonprofit organization is accepting applications for Christmas assistance from residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties. Applications will be accepted at all metro Detroit Salvation Army Corps Community Centers beginning Monday, Nov. 16th through Dec. 16th.

Christmas assistance for families up to six will include a box of non-perishable food to prepare a holiday meal along with a grocery store gift card to purchase fresh foods. Larger families will receive more. Families with kids up to the age of 14 may also apply to receive free toys. Senior citizens will receive grocery store gift cards.
