Faith Leaders and Concerned Citizens Hold Prayer Vigil at MDEQ Headquarters, Call For Director to Resign
Lansing, MI – October 21, 2015 – The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality finally admitted federal rules for drinking water weren’t followed properly in Flint. Dan Wyant acknowledged that his department made mistakes. In the wake of these mistakes, an entire Michigan city has elevated lead levels in children. In response to the MDEQ role in the Flint water crisis faith leaders from Flint and Detroit, joined by concerned citizens will hold a prayer vigil today at the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality located at 525 W. Allegan Street, Lansing, Mich., 48909 at 12:30 PM. They are calling for Dan Wyant the MDEQ director to resign.
