A medical examiner has determined more tests would be needed to find out the cause of death of a Syracuse University student who was found unresponsive in her hotel room over the weekend.

Twenty-one-year-old Sabrina Cammock was found dead at Hotel Edison in New York Sunday morning. The student was in the city celebrating Spring Break with her friends. After a night of partying, the girls returned to their hotel room. Cammock was found dead in the room the next day around 9:20 a.m.

Officials say there were no drugs in her system and no force trauma to her body, leaving a medical examiner to further examine Cammock for more answers.

“Further tests are pending to determine the cause and manner of death,” said Julie Bolcer, a spokeswoman for the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner. “The death is still under investigation,” she said.

Cammock was honored by friends and family on social media over the weekend. The student was in her senior year at SU and planned to graduate with a degree in public health from the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. Her track stats helped her hold the record for the 4×100-meter relay at the school.

Recently, Cammock took part in the ACC Indoor Championships. The track star was also an intern at Harlem United, a non-profit organization that specializes in the health awareness for people in lower income housing.

“RIP Cousin.Sabrina,” Dion Nelson wrote in a Facebook post for everyone to see. “we (don’t) understand but we ask god for his understanding. Gone too (soon). young full of potential so much to offer (the) world but god chose you..”

Results from the second autopsy aren’t expected to arrive for a few weeks.
