Michigan wide receiver Amara Darboh will miss the 2013 season with a foot injury.

The news delivers a huge blow to the offense, as the sophomore was projected to be a starter.

Brady Hoke announced the injury in a release Wednesday morning.

“I love Amara, and just hate it for him, how hard he worked through the offseason and fall camp to earn a starting role,” Hoke said.

“We’ll rally around him like a family does and help him get through this difficult time.”

Darboh spent most of his time last season on special teams, recording five tackles. He did not catch any passes, but was impressing the team during camp.

Michigan’s leading receiver, Jeremy Gallon, returns this season, as well as Drew Dileo.
