Annual White House Correspondents Garden Brunch

The Michigan Lottery National Stage, which will be located on Seventh Street between Main and Center Streets, will have nationally known entertainers performing, as well as more than 200 local entertainers.

Among some of the well known performers to take the stage are Smash Mouth, M.C. Hammer, Eddie Money, Soul Asylum, Starship, Montgomery Gentry, Beatle tribute band, Beatlemania, and popular local bands 50 Amp Fuse, The Killer Flamingos and Amy gore and Her Valentines.

The Meijer Kids Stage will feature performances by Rosco the Clown, juggling acts, ventriloquist acts, magic shows and several other kid friendly, audience interactive shows. The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music will perform on the Kids Stage every day of the festival.

Local talent will also have the chance to shine during the Be a Rockstar Singing Competition.

There will be plenty of art to entertain the eye as well. The Juried Fine Art Show will highlight this year’s festival with artists from all over North America attempting to win cash rewards that will total $7,5000. The art show will showcase ceramics, digital art, drawings, glass, graphics/printmaking, jewelry, metal, mixed media 2D and 3D, painting, photography, sculptures and more.

Festival goers will be able to peruse through more than 140 artist booths. Some may recognize Tampa, Florida based Walt Majewski, who is best known for painting in his booth.

Beaumont Hospital will donate $10,000 of exhibit space for the second annual Deaf Arts Festival which will feature work from a number of outstanding artists that are deaf and hard of hearing.

The Detroit Film Theatre will be presenting the internationally acclaimed, animated film “A Cat In Paris” for the kids and cinema buffs each night from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. inside the Oakland County Parks Kids Zone.

While you’re enjoying all of the entertainment, there will be plenty of food to eat from more than 50 area restaurants and caterers.

Booths will feature everything from flavorful cultural dishes, to seafood, to summer fun food, to mouthwatering sweets and desserts.

And if you’re looking for something healthy, just keep an eye out for the Healthy Option Logo on the food signs.
