In spite of all the negative things going around the city of Detroit we are glad to see that Tom Joyner is doing a good deed for a Detroit resident who suffered a major loss. Read below the letter sent to Tom Joyner from a sister looking to help out her sister-in-law after her brother was killed in house fire.
” ON JUNE 20, 2013 MY OLDER BROTHER, HERBERT ALPHONSO WILSON, JR. PERISHED IN A FIRE THAT DESTROYED THE HOME HE LIVED IN WITH HIS WIFE, SYBIL, HER MOTHER AND THEIR THREE SONS. HE WAS 58 YEARS-OLD.
TOM, WE SPENT ALL OUR MONEY BURYING MY BROTHER WHO DID NOT HAVE LIFE INSURANCE. SYBIL AND THE BOYS ARE LIVING IN A HOTEL WHILE FUTURE LIVING ARRANGEMENTS ARE BEING WORKED ON.
YOU WOULD BE A BLESSING TO HER IF YOU COULD GRANT A CHRISTMAS WISH AND HELP HER REPLACE THE BOYS CLOTHING AND SOME OF THE NECESSITIESTHEY LOST IN THE FIRE. IT WAS ENOUGH TO LOSE THEIR HUSBAND AND FATHER, BUT TO LOSE ALL YOUR BELONGINGS IS ANOTHER WHOLE TRAGEDY.”
Here is the Tom Joyner and his staff to the family,
“CONGRATULATIONS HARVEY WILSON, YOUR CHRISTMAS WISH IS GRANTED. WHILE WE ARE SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS AND KNOW THERE IS NO WAY TO REPLACE YOUR WONDERFUL BROTHER, WE CAN AT LEAST HELP YOUR SISTER-IN-LAW TO REPLACE THE CLOTHING SHE NEEDS FOR HER THREE SONS AND SOME OF THE NECESSITIES THEY LOST IN THE FIRE. IT IS OUR PROFOUND HOPE THIS HELPS THEM TO HEAL AND GIVES THEM HOPE FOR THE FUTURE.”
The family was granted 2,500 total in Giftcards to their favorite stores to replace clothes, shoes, school supplies and necessities!!
