Wayne County Judge Cynthia Gray Hathaway allowed reporters into the courtroom Thursday, a day after banning news media from watching the jury selection process. She didn’t explain why reporters were shut out.

The jury, finalized this week, is made up of nine men and four women.

Joseph Weekley is charged with involuntary manslaughter. His gun was fired during a chaotic raid on a Detroit home in May 2010. Aiyana Stanley-Jones was shot in the head while asleep on a couch.

A stun grenade was used before police entered the home. Video recorded by a crew from a TV show, “The First 48,” will be part of the evidence. The crew was working with Detroit police that night.
