The way I see it, applying make-up is an art. Faces are blank canvases brushed into glamorous made up masterpieces. I feel this every time celebrity make-up artist LaQuanah Crawford takes a brush, applies liner or lipstick to my face.
It was about 3 years ago when I met LaQuanah. I walked into Macy’s at Northland Mall in desperate need of a glam look for an event. Within minutes of just meeting her, I was impressed by her personality and professionalism. LaQuanah applied my makeup and I LOVED IT!
How did I get so lucky?! Is what I thought. My fully made up face was gorgeous! LaQuanah just has that touch. At my event, I swear to you not a person passed me without saying “you look amazing!”Trust me, you will not find a more talented, passionate, friendly, professional makeup artist than LaQuanah!

Favorite current R&B song: John Legend, “Tonight”
Favorite old school song: Lenny Williams, “Cause I Love You”
Favorite makeup must have: a red lip because even on a bad hair day or no makeup day a red lip will keep you fabulous.
Favorite makeup line: M.A.C. Cosmetics because they have a little bit of everything for people from all walks of life.
Applying makeup is : simply an enhancer to the beauty you already possess.
Without makeup I would: be sure to keep a great skin care regiment so my skin continuously look radiant.
When people see my work: after looking in the mirror they are ecstatic because can still see themselves, but notice the enhancements. No one wants an excessive amount of layered up makeup on.
I knew I wanted to be a makeup artist since: the tender age of 7 or 8 years old, always putting on blush and lipstick.
The best makeup for a dramatic look: is a nice pigmented black eyeliner and lashes which are two great essentials for a hot smoky eye for a night on the town. If you’re not into a smoky eye, always think about having a pop of color.
The best makeup for a natural look: are your earth tone colors such as bronzes, browns, golds and colors that are close to your skin tone or provide a nice sunkiss glow such as a nice bronzer. It’s all about the skin looking youthful and radiant.
Currently, LaQuanah is working on classes to help people achieve a look they want. From your stay at home mom that’s going out on a night on the town with that special someone, but just want to spice things up. To the ladies that live for a Girls Night Out, but just want to add a little pizzazz to their current makeup bag of goodies.
