“The vehicle was finally stopped at Linwood and Hooker where the suspect in the homicide fired shots at the officers, who returned fire.  Two officers were shot.  The suspect was fatally wounded.  At this time, we will be providing no further details,” Logan said.

We’ve learned the two passengers in the vehicle, a man and a woman, have been taken into custody.

We also know the names of the police officer and the sergeant that were shot, but are not releasing them at this time out of respect to their families.  We can tell you the officer has been on the job since 2001 and the sergeant since 1989.
