A 33 year-old woman was shot and killed early Sunday morning following a fight inside the Myst Ultra Lounge on Northwestern Highway in Southfield.

Lt. Nick Loussia said the shooting occurred approximately 2:15 a.m. The victim was found inside the club with a gunshot wound to the her head, according to the Oakland County Medical Examiner. She was transported to Beaumont Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses say several people were bounced from the club following a fight inside. One of the people thrown out was overheard making threats to come back with a weapon.

Police say it was only a short time later that shots were fired from the outside parking lot into the building.

After review footage from the club’s security cameras, investigators say they were able to identify a “person of interest.” according to police, this individual was involved in the altercation with security personnel and is one of the subjects that was ejected from the club.

While police aren’t sure if he is the gunman, they do believe the man might have some critical information about the shooting.
