The Spinners Show They Still Got It On TV One's Unsung (thumbnail)Funeral arrangements have been set for Spinners lead singer Bobby Smith.

The body of Smith, who died Saturday in Florida, will be laid to rest in Detroit, where he and the Spinners made their name in the ’60s before scoring a slew of R&B and pop hits with Atlantic Records.

The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen A.M.E. Church, 6000 Stanford St., Detroit. It will be preceded at 10 a.m. by a family hour.

Visitation is scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Swanson Funeral Home, 14751 McNichols Rd. West, Detroit. The funeral home can be reached at 313- 272-9000.

Smith, whose Spinners career included hits such as “I’ll Be Around” and “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love,” died of complications from pneumonia and influenza, three months after being diagnosed with lung cancer. He was 76.
