Kevin Lewis, 25, of Detroit has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Lauren Trotty, India Coleman and Curtis Clements, whose bodies were discovered March 7 in an abandoned home on Coyle. He is expected to be arraigned on the charges Wednesday.
Also charged in the deaths is Shadell Love, 21, of Detroit. He is also facing first-degree murder charges and is due back in court March 19 for a preliminary examination, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Trotty and Coleman both died from multiple shotgun wounds and Clements died from a shotgun wound to the head, according to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police said two children – ages 5 and 1 – were also in the home at the time of the shootings. The 5-year-old girl watched as a man kicked in the door and shot her mother, according to police.
