It’s hard to believe anyone would shell out $450 for a pizza, but one eatery in Vancouver is betting on patrons doing just that for their latest culinary creation.
Topped with such high-end ingredients as lobster and black Alaska cod, the The Steveston Pizza Company’s pricy pie has found it’s way into the Guiness Book of World Records.
“I never thought I’d sell so many,” explained the restaurant’s owner, Nader Hatami. “The idea was to make a culinary statement. I don’t know if you’ve tried our pizza but each one is pretty unique.”
The upscale restaurant also sells a $120 version of the pie topped with roasted garlic, Icelandic scampi, smoked steelhead, and lobster ratatouille. Cheapskates can also purchase the standard pepperoni pizza for $14.
