La La and Carmelo Anthony just wrapped up their first holiday season in New York, where the former Denver Nugget now plays with the New York Knicks. We’ll see how the couple’s new life is progressing during the second season of VH1’s La La’s Full Court Life, which starts filming this week and premieres in March. The couple, parents to 4-year-old son Kiyan, are even more in the spotlight. La La, a former MTV personality who has been in such movies as Soul Plane and You Got Served, is booting up her acting career again.

What sets your show apart from other reality shows?

“I think my life is kind of relatable to people trying to make every day work and not to be so crazy and stressed out. We don’t throw drinks in people’s faces or act ridiculous. That’s not the kind of stuff we do.”
Can you talk a little about season 2?
“I’m so grateful for the fact that people are still interested. Now that the dust has settled we’re still balancing life between New York and L.A. You’ll see me having a career and being a mom and a wife. It’s going good. I’ve learned to really be OK with not accomplishing everything in one day and to give myself a pass. I used to be so hard on myself if I didn’t get it all done. I kind of prioritize now and figure out what can wait and kind of work within those guidelines. I was putting way too much pressure on myself; we tend to put more pressure on ourselves than anyone else.”
Can you talk a little about that project?
I play Sonia in Think Like A Man, based on Steve Harvey’s book, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man. My character is the one person who is a pessimist about this book. I don’t understand why everyone is following it as a guideline of how to function in a relationship. My costars are amazing people like Taraji Henson, Gabrielle Union, Jerry Ferrara from Entourage and Kevin Hart, who never made it feel like you were at work. It was jokes and fun all day long.
