Mary J Blige was one of several of the all-female performers who graced the stage of the BET special Black Girls Rock 2011 that aired on Sunday night. A ceremony that gave props to girl power, the entertainer took to the stage to close out the show and give amazing vocal performances that left everyone feeling strong.

Performing at the Paradise Theater in New York City, the entertainer was in good company during the evening performances. Gospel group Mary Mary performed as well as Elle Varner. Sharing just how strong women can be rocking the stage, the show gave the ladies who took control of the evening a chance to share just who powerful they could be.

Closing out the inspirational evening, was Grammy Award-winning singer Mary J. Blige, wowed the audience with her performances of well-known singles “My Life” and “Just Fine.”

Celebrating the second year of honoring African American women in business, politics, entertainment, sports and community service the event was co-hosted by actresses Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King.
