A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for all of southeast Michigan until 2:00 p.m. A line of thunderstorms will move into the area over the next 60-90 minutes. These storms are capable of producing high winds, large hail and heavy rain. Areas affected: Genesee, Lapeer, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Saginaw, Saint Clair, Sanilac,…

A second line of strong storms will sweep through this afternoon with high winds being the primary threat.

High heat is still in place across Metro Detroit with temperatures pushing into the low 90s. Factor in ample moisture and the “feel like” temperature will make a run towards 100 degrees. A cold front will move through late in the day and there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms ahead. A few of the storms may be severe.
