Freep – A 7-year-old boy who took his stepfather’s red Pontiac Sunfire for a morning spin was pulled over by Huron County Sheriff officers after going nearly 20 miles alone.

At about 10 a.m., a caller reported to police a suspicious driver on Kinde Road in Caseville Township. Sheriff’s deputies caught up to the vehicle and got the child to pull over to the side of the road.

Police said the child appeared upset and had trouble getting the car door unlocked.

The boy left his stepfather’s residence in Sheridan Township and was heading to his father’s home in the Filion area, police said.
