The fifth annual Detroit River Days Festival is returning to the riverfront in June.

The weekend festival was began in 2007 by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.

This year, the event runs June 23-26 along the international waterfront downtown.

There is a $3 entrance fee, which supplements sponsorship dollars to help put the festival on.

Children under three years old and seniors 65 and up are free.

With the Ambassador Bridge Company’s “Free Friday” promotion – admission to the festival will be free between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, June 24. Also, if you participate in the 5K River Days Run on Saturday morning or the Pooch-a-Palooza on Sunday morning, your admission fee is included in the event registration for that day.
