Are you jealous of all the people in the grocery coupon line who have a stack of coupons, while you don’t. Clipping coupons may sound so 1980s, in this high tech smart phone, Facebook age. But quite the contrary.

Thanks to Facebook, websites, and mobile sites, grocery coupons can save you more money than ever!

Advice to save

Andrea Deckard writes a coupon blog called  “The Savings Lifestyle.”

The Sunday newspaper? Andrea’s been there, done that, but even in this smart phone age she says it should be still your first stop.

“My first place is still the Sunday newspaper, my second is printable coupons,” Andrea says.

Andrea says printable online coupons means she never pays full price for any frozen food. “A lot of times you can get them 50 cents a bag, there’s lots of coupons for frozen vegetable.”

Coupon websites even give her coupons for organic food, which she rarely finds in the newspaper.

So where does she find good legitimate coupons? Andrea has 3 favorite websites:

“I highly recommend Coupons.com. They have fresh coupons and replenish them every day,” Andrea says. “SmartSource.com has various specials and another great site is RedPlum.com.”

All three, Coupons.com , SmartSource.com and RedPlum.com require you to install a coupon printing program on your computer. That’s to prevent people from printing too many.

Using Facebook to save!

Andrea also says it’s a good idea to register at grocery store websites. Then she says, friend favorite brands on Facebook, for new coupons all the time.

“Brands have their own Facebook page, come over, like then, and you’ll get great coupons,” Andrea says. “Nabisco is a good one. On the 1st of the month, they have buy one get one free when you get a gallon of milk.”

Andrea says some stores still reject printed coupons. But those are mostly emailed counterfeit coupons, for free pizza or something else too good to be true. Legitimate coupons come with current barcodes, and they work.

“I think you would be hard pressed now to find a store that does not accept a printed coupon,” she says.

Of course, if you have a Smartphone you access you these sites and their special smart phone apps, directly on your phone in the store. That way, many times there’s no need to print a coupon. Just do an app search to find them, so you don’t waste your money!
