SAGINAW, Mich. — A 67-year-old Saginaw man who police said gave a 45-year-old woman cocaine in exchange for having sex with a 10-year-old girl has been arrested and faced sexual assault charges in court.

Johnnie L. Griffin was arraigned Monday on charges including first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under 13. He was being held in the Saginaw County Jail on $950,000 bond.

Griffin was arrested Saturday in Flint after a weeks-long hunt and faces up to life in prison if convicted. Not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf. A message seeking comment was left with defense lawyer Russell J. Perry Jr.

Police said Griffin had sex with the girl between September and February.

The woman earlier faced charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and pandering.
