DETROIT – Boxing history is up for grabs this week.

Monday, the public got its first chance at one-of-a-kind memorabilia and personal artifacts of Detroit boxing legend Tommy “Hitman” Hearns.

Hearns is holding a liquidation auction Saturday at 11 a.m. at The Auction Block, located at 12660 Greenfield Road just north in Interstate 96 in Detroit.

The items up for auction will be on display before the auction this week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Items include a 1957 Chevy, a 48-foot boat, jewelry, trailers, shirts, robes and a custom Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Money from the auction will be used to settle Hearns’ debt with the IRS.
