Authorities say a 63-year-old man who fatally shot one police officer and wounded another in Jackson has been killed.
Undersheriff Tom Finco tells The Associated Press that 26-year-old James Bonneau was fatally shot Tuesday morning and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Finco said 22-year-old Blackman Township Public Safety Officer Darrin McIntosh also was wounded and underwent surgery for a non-life-threatening injury. His condition was not immediately known.
Officials say at 12:26 a.m. the two officers responded to a domestic disturbance call and entered a home belonging to Elvin Potts of Jackson, in the city about 70 miles west of Detroit.
Police say Potts revealed a handgun and shot at the officers three times. One officer returned fire, killing Potts.
