J. Drew, the son of Pastor Drew Sheard and Karen Clark Sheard (Of The Clark Sisters) came to Hot 107.5 for a sit down interview with Kerrie Mitchell to discuss his role on the show. Surprisingly, he was very open with explaining how his goal is to break away from the gospel arena and wants to focus on HIS LIFE and HIS PASSION which is MUSIC that explores an unusual blend of futuristic R&B and nu-pop trap music.

Check out a buzz record entitled FLIGHT, which is yet to be confirmed if it will premiere on his album, ‘Never Coming Back’. How the family and church feel about his conquest to breakaway is all discussed in the interview as well as his current relationship with his son’s mother.

It’s a shame that someone’s reputation can be soiled so several in a manner of hours. However, here’s to hoping Kevin Clash, who voices Elmo on Sesame Street, can take some comfort in the truth coming forth. The person who accused him of starting a sexual relationship with him while he was underage has recanted his story.

Call up Snuffy, Oscar, and Big Bird and jump that fool! Or you know, move on and learn to forgive (by way of settlement). Whatever.

Here’s TMZ with the rest of the story:

The accuser’s lawyer just released a statement saying, “[The accuser] wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship. [The accuser] will have no further comment.”

It’s unclear why the accuser suddenly changed his story … but sources close to the situation tell TMZ … the accuser’s attorney had been meeting with Clash’s attorney as recent as an hour ago, discussing a financial settlement and 6-figures were on the table.

We broke the story, the accuser claimed he had a sexual relationship with Kevin beginning when he was 16 and Kevin was 45.

Clash has also released a statement saying, “I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further.”

As you’ve heard by now, Rihanna sampled Ginuwine’s breakout hit, “Pony,” on her forthcoming seventh album, Unapologetic.

MTV News caught up with the R&B singer about her use of the 1996 track, and not surprisingly, he’s all for it. Who could blame him? A check is a check and well…it’s Rihanna.

Here’s Ginuwine on Rihanna sampling his debut single:

“You know what? My management told me she wanted to use it, and Rihanna, I’m a fan of hers and I love what she’s doing. Anytime someone uses anything that I’ve done in the past, that’s just one of those things where the respect is there and I can appreciate that and it was a great song and still is,” he told MTV News of Rih’s usage of the defining ’90s jam. “It’s one of the most appreciated songs when I do my shows, that’s one of the songs that gets the most reaction, and for her doing it, I’m appreciative. I thank her for it and hopefully it does well for her.”

With NSFW lyrics that play up Ginuwine’s prowess as a lover (Spoiler alert: He’s not singing about a baby horse), it comes as no surprise that Rihanna would put her gender-bending spin on the track’s infamous chorus. “That’s one of those songs you really can’t mess up anyway. When I heard that she wanted to do it I immediately said ‘OK.’ I signed onboard.

“Well I think it was a universal type song anyway, but you can just flip it just like I know she did it,” he continued. “If anybody in the business can capture the spirit of ‘Pony,’ it would have to be Rihanna. I’m anxious to hear what she’s done to it and at the same time appreciative of her to consider that song from me. Hopefully it does a wonderful job for her like it did for me.”

Why? For one, she claimed that paparazzi in LA made her life dangerous. “It’s the appeal of privacy and a greater sense of safety for Nahla,” she recently explained to In Style magazine “I don’t want her to grow up around the tabloids”. Second, two men Berry views as highly dangerous are suddenly free. Richard Franco, who was convicted of stalking the star in January, was released earlier this year, and the other man, Robert Hoskins, who allegedly threatened to slit her throat, escaped from a mental institution a month later.

“It is something he has chosen to do, and it’s fair to say that you cannot blame this one on the boogie, you’ve got to blame it on the sunshine,” a friend explains to the AP, referencing Jackson 5 hit “Blame it on the Boogie.”

RZA said one of the hardest things about making the martial arts film was spending over 150 days in a foreign country without his family. “The different vibe was just a lonely situation really, not only not seeing any blacks in China, but not seeing no whites either,” he says. “My wife wasn’t able to come over because of the duties of home … so I was really lonely, everybody else’s wives came over, everybody had love … There was a week where Jamie Chung came in to be Lady Silk and I just started like looking at her like that was my woman [laughs].”

Although he’s no stranger to the industry, RZA said he faced many difficulties as a first-time director. “You’ve got to think, first of all even having the level of talent trust me and to have a mutual trust back and forth was a challenge because I’m not just playing with just any Joe Schmoe. [I've] got some of the best in the world coming to represent with me and you want to protect that,” he says.

Having watched all the kung fu classics throughout childhood and even naming his band after the film from the genre — “Shaolin and Wu Tang” — RZA said he made sure to include cues from his favorite martial arts flicks in his film. “It was very important to pay homage to those things that inspired [me], especially Bruce Lee. I consider Bruce Lee a minor prophet,” he says. “In the Koran it teaches us that we have major prophets and we have minor prophets, so Abraham, Moses and Jesus would be major. But then you have minor prophets that only live for small periods of time and inspire people in their own small ways. I feel Bruce Lee was like that … He brought martial arts films to the world stage. Billion dollar corporations were based on his vision.”

“The Man with the Iron Fists” has been a labor of love for RZA, as he worked on the film for years before bringing it to life. He said he was surprised at how much the film changed throughout the process. “They say movies are made three times and I heard it before I did it,” he says. “I understand what they mean.”

With so many movies out about Friends with Benefits, it begs the question: Can it really work?

It really depends on the people and the situation, but there are pros and cons to both.

Pros:

You’re with someone who you’re already close to

Being friends with the person before taking things to another level means you already know a lot about the person. You know what they like, and what they’re looking for. There’s no pretending or trying to hide who you really are because it’s all out there for them to see.

You know how to communicate with each other

Since you’re friends, at this point you’ve probably already figured out how to speak to them.

Cons:

The friendship can end

Getting involved with a friend means you have to accept the risk. There’s a chance you will lose the friendship you once had.

Someone might want something more

If one of the friends wants to be in a relationship, and the other doesn’t… it can strain what was there.

Emotions and Miscommunication

While friends with benefits isn’t an official relationship, emotions and miscommunication can creep in.

Getting romantically involved with a friend is something that needs a lot of consideration. There’s a chance that a relationship can stem from it. And if you aren’t ready for that, talking about where things are going can help. It’s important to remember that things can get complicated if you don’t talk it out and lay out ground rules.
