Charlie Wilson brought the Gardens down on day one of the Jazz In The Gardens Concert in Miami. Many concert goers stated that Charlie put on such a spectacular show that Lauren Hill had no chance to win the crowd over in her headline performance following Wilson’s set.

Charlie brought the old-school and new school performing Gap Band hits like “Outstanding” and new school hits from his solo projects including “You Are” and “There Goes My Baby”.

KISSDETROIT – Headliner for the Sixth Annual Jazz in the Gardens, Lauryn Hill received mixed reviews on her performance. To no ones surprise Lauren Hill was over an hour late. Many media outlets have criticized Lauren Hill’s attire and Hill’s updated sound of timeless classics made it hard for the audience to vibe and sing along.

Although much of the crowd seemed tuned out and disconnected during Lauren’s performance I couldn’t help but jam to the old school classics and appreciate her presence. Being a fan for years much of my excitement came from the thrill of seeing here live.

KISSDETROIT – #TeamEl, El DeBarge’s offical fan club, has the most loyal fans in the industry. One member of the group traveled to Jazz in the Gardens in Miami to speak with Musiq Soulchild, as he was El DeBarge’s replacement on the show after El entered into rehab.

She asks Musiq if he had any ‘words of encouragement’ or had spoken to El Debarge since entering rehab. Watch the video below as Musiq explains why he is glad Team El asked that question.
