The President got choked up during his speech and shed a few tears in a very heartfelt moment.

“Because what you guys have done means that the work that I’m doing is important, and I’m really proud of that,” said President Obama. “I’m really proud of all of you.”

The president had an emotional moment after his victory this week giving a thank you speech to all his campaign staffers who worked so relentlessly to help him get re-elected.

The video posted on the president’s official channel just yesterday (Nov. 8) has already reached nearly 1.5 million views on YouTube. Watch the entire speech below.

President Barack Obama is not only the leader of the free world, he is also apparently a superstitious man. He’s played basketball on every election day during his presidential campaigns save for once.
And that time– during the 2008 New Hampshire Democratic primary– he lost to Hillary Clinton.
This time, Obama’s not taking any chances. As millions of Americans hit the voting booths today, the president will hit the hardwood for a game of hoops with friends and staff at Attack Athletics on West Harrison Street in Chicago.
Among those playing b-ball with Barack are Education Secretary Arne Duncan, “body man” Reggie Love and close buddies Mike Ramos and Marty Nesbitt.
According to Ramos and Nesbitt, there’s no going easy on the most powerful man on earth.
“Every time he tried to score, I fouled him,” Nesbitt told the New York Times in 2007. “I grabbed him, I’d hit his arm, I’d hold him.”
“No blood, no foul,” added Ramos.
Conventional wisdom posits that Obama plays these basketball games because he’s superstitious, especially after his ’08 New Hampshire primary loss to Clinton. But the game also helps him escape the chaos of politics, especially the madness of presidential elections.
“He can be himself, it’s a safe haven, he can let his competitive juices flow and tease his buddies,” Nesbitt told the Times. “It’s just a relaxing respite from the every-moment and every-word scrutinization that he gets.”
One question that gets frequently asked is, “Prez got game?” Well, if you believe NBA Commissioner David Stern, the answer is “not really.”

Well, there’s no secret about how Barack and Michelle Obama are planning on spending their 20th wedding anniversary.

And while the first prime-time presidential debate, in which he’ll face off against Mitt Romney, isn’t exactly the romantic candlelight dinner other couples might enjoy, it’s certainly par for the course for this most powerful of power couples.
Michelle, too, wasn’t shy about wearing her heart on her sleeve (or Twitter account), reciprocating his message not long after.

“Happy 20th anniversary, Barack,” she tweeted. “Thank you for being an incredible partner, friend and father every day. I love you! —mo”

If that doesn’t put an extra spring in his step and barb in his debate retorts, we don’t know what will.

Happy anniversary, POTUS.

But while their anniversary night may not be spent in the most lovey-dovey of ways, their anniversary morning certainly was.

“Twenty years ago today, I married the love of my life and my best friend,” the president tweeted this morning. “Happy anniversary, Michelle. —bo”

Aw.

With sentiments like that, who needs speechwriters?

The Election Protection coalition, a nonpartisan group, is doing everything to educate the public to make sure everyone’s vote is counted and to let you know YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE!

Here’s what they say everyone needs to know:

1. Verify your voter registration status and find your polling place before Election Day.  Call 1-866-OUR-VOTE if you have questions or problems.

2. Know your polling place hours.  Be sure to look up what time your polling location opens and closes before heading to the polls. A voter in line by the time the polling location closes HAS THE RIGHT TO VOTE.

3. Find out what options you have if you’ve moved after the close of registration and haven’t updated your registration.

4. Check what type of identification you must present if identification is required in your state and bring it with you to the polls.  If you do not have your voter notification card, or other identification with you on Election Day, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE by provisional ballot.

5. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE if you present yourself at the polls on Election Day and believe you are eligible and properly registered. You cannot be turned away from the polls. Even if there is some question about your registration, you must be permitted to cast a provisional ballot.

6. BEFORE CASTING A PROVISIONAL BALLOT, call 1-866-OUR-VOTE to make sure it is cast properly and to verify you weren’t improperly offered a provisional ballot.

7. All polling locations should be wheelchair accessible and offer parking for persons with disabilities.

8. If you cannot read, write or speak English or you are blind or otherwise physically disabled, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE HELP WITH VOTING by a person of your choice except the judge of elections, the voter’s employer or an agent of the employer or an officer or agent of the voter’s union.

9. If you have been convicted of a felony and have completed your sentence of incarceration or parole or if you are on probation, CHECK YOUR STATE’S RESTORATION REQUIREMENTS. If your rights are restored you must re-register once your rights have been restored.

10. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE without anyone electioneering or trying to influence your vote in any other way within a certain distance of the entrance of your polling place, or polling room.

11. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO be excused from work to vote. Your employer must excuse you from work for up to 2 hours on Election Day if you do not have time to vote before or after work.
