Wayne State University is asking the community to be on alert after a man reported being robbed at gunpoint over the weekend.
According to the university police department’s incident report, the robbery occurred Saturday just after noon on East Palmer Street near John R Road.
The robber allegedly approached the victim from behind, flashed a black handgun and robbed him.
The victim was not hurt.
The armed robber is described by police as a black male between 25 and 30 years old. He was wearing a black hat, black jacket and jeans with gold embroidery.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Wayne State University Police Department.
