DETROIT – Three teenage girls who were trapped inside of a rolled over vehicle are in serious condition. Police said the crash happened sometime between 3:45 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. on the John C. Lodge service drive.

A male driver and the teens were driving when the vehicle hit a curb and the driver lost control, police said.Police said the Chevy Impala rolled over several times and hit a few porches before coming to a rest on the front lawn of a home.Bricks from the porch flew into neighbor’s homes and through windows.Wayne Betts said he was sleeping when he heard a loud “boom.”"The bricks came through the window and through my drywall and up and into the kitchen,” said Betts.
The male driver fled the scene.Witnesses said two of the teenage girls were able to free themselves from the overturned vehicle, but the third girl was too badly injured.The Jaws of Life were used to rescue her. She underwent emergency surgery and remains in serious condition at Sinai Hospital.The two other girls were also transported to Sinai.Witnesses told police that the driver was going nearly 100 mph.The teens were all recent graduates of Detroit Mumford High School.
