TMZ Reports that Actor Mekhi Phifer Has Filed for Bankruptcy

TMZ reported that Phifer filed for full blown bankruptcy late last month, claiming roughly $67,000 in assets, as he drowns in debt totaling around $1.3 Mil. Shonda Rhimes is PISSED OFF Over Columbus Short Re-casting Hoax

“Shonda Rhimes who is the creator and executive producer of the hit show “Scandal” reportedly went off on Deadline Hollywood for putting up a fake story saying Columbus Short had been recast. Now for those who don’t know Columbus Short recently was let go from the show and his character appeared to be dead at the end of last season.

Deadline Hollywood reported that Short would be replaced by some guy named Eric West but Rhimes shot down that report right quick, tweeting out, “I’ve never heard of Eric West. Harrison is not being recast EVER. How about reporters CHECK THEIR SOURCES before running with a story? Um, @Deadline? Handle yourself.”

According to TMZ, Deadline Hollywood quickly updated its story, calling it an “elaborate hoax” — but still wouldn’t drop it, writing, “It is unclear yet whether Short would be replaced.”

Actor Terry Crews has been named host of ‘Who Wants to be A Millionaire’

For the last year, we have watched comedian and actor Cedric the Entertainer host the hit game show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Now after having one year of great success, Cedridc has chosen to leave his role as host and his successor is actor Terry Crews. According to USA Today, Crews couldn’t be happier about this opportunity.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be joining Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and the Disney-ABC family,” Crews said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Millionaire is such a beloved franchise and I can’t wait to get started as the new host. In addition to my film projects … hosting has always been a dream of mine, and I couldn’t have asked for a greater opportunity.”

Millionaire is moving production from New York to Stamford, Conn., for the upcoming season and Crews will reportedly take over as host of the syndicated game show, which starts its 13th season in the fall. I don’t know about you but I am excited to see Crews host the famous game show, no doubt that he will bring his own unique style to the show.
