he Michigan football team got a visit from a sixth round NFL Draft pick Thursday morning.

    His name?

    Tom Brady.

The former Wolverines quarterback talked with the team at Schembechler Hall before his New England Patriots faced the Detroit Lions in a preseason game.

Brady Hoke introduced the three-time Super Bowl champion, who talked about his road from high school to Michigan and onto the NFL.

“It’s a privilege, I would say, to stand before you guys. 19 years ago I sat where you guys sit, as a freshman coming from California,” Brady said in a video released from Michigan athletics.

“Every player in this room is counting on you, and anyone who’s worn this helmet is counting on you.”

Brady told the team he didn’t have an easy experience, but the ‘greatest honor’ as a player he’s ever had was being named captain as a fourth and fifth year quarterback.

“Not every kid is playing for Michigan, and this place is special to me and it’s special to the guys I played with,” he said.

    “Because we love Michigan.”

Brady spent time after the talk shaking hands with each player, and shooting promotional footage with current quarterback Devin Gardner.
