March is National Reading Month, an opportunity to celebrate how important reading is!
During this month, I am pleased to share my love of reading. Helping teachers pass the messages to their young students to pick up a book and take an exciting adventure with a turn of each page!
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of donating books my son enjoyed when he was younger, to the kids in Ms. Morris’s 1st grade classroom at Pontiac’s WHRC.
Ms. Morris, a wonderful educator of 10 years, was delighted to have me donate the books to her students! The kids waited patiently and were extremely excited while picking out their “just right” books! Most of her students couldn’t wait to get home to start reading! It was really special when the kids shared what books each other had picked out with me, each other and Ms. Morris.
The 1st graders, currently working on their project “Reading Around The World”, which Ms. Morris said will cultivate their imagination, curiosity and creativity building a lifelong interest in reading!
