Oprah Winfrey chose President Obama being elected to office as the biggest moment in black history of the last 10 years.

“There’s nothing more profound, moving, inspirational or trajectory changing for everybody in terms of what is possible in the world,” said Oprah with an obvious sigh. The media proprietor and philanthropist paused for a brief moment, to speak with #TeamBeautiful on the red carpet of the Essence “Black Women In Hollywood” luncheon and listed the unprecedented election of the first black president of the United States as the biggest black history moment of the last 10 years. President Obama and his beautiful First Lady–Michelle Obama, altered the palate of politics in America. What once was an aspiration for a progressive country– crowning a person of color as commander-in-chief–became reality on November 4th, 2008 when the former Illinois senator beat competitor John McCain in the electoral and popular votes: 365 to 173 and 52.9 percent to 45.7 percent.
