*Oprah is definitely onto something big.

The media mogul struck a cord with black women everywhere by offering an alternative to those divas-gone-wild-like reality shows.

The former queen of daytime television has been harshly criticized in the past for targeting predominantly white women, but with her new arm of OWN, aka Tyler Perry, she could be winning a new fan club; especially since the partnership follows the successful premier of the hit reality series, “Welcome to Sweetie Pies,” a focus on a black family’s Southern restaurant business run by sweet Robbie Montgomery; and the two-part premier of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” with Evelyn Lozada.

Though the “Basketball Wives” gangstar built up a reputation of violence and scrappiness, she came down to her knees during the interview, reducing herself to tears and deep moments with the show’s host. This opened the window to a whole new audience for OWN.

“Oprah has said from the onset that she wants to create a different network,” OWN President Erik Logan told the Grio, explaining his boss’s maxim that the network’s shows promote “fun, love, and light.”
