    JOB DESCRIPTION
    General Purpose
    Responsible for all aspects of circulation (sales, service and collections) for the Oakland Press. The District Manager is responsible for managing the customer’s entire experience from the DC to the doorstep. Hours are typically 2:00 – 11:00 AM.

    Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

    The successful candidates will be responsible for all aspects of home delivery pertaining to the districts that they supervise. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Contracting and training of carriers.
    • The posting of all the bill payments.
    • Continually work with the carriers to reduce the past due balances and credits.
    • Terminate the ‘Lease Agreement’ with those carriers who fail to satisfy the terms of the agreement.
    • Coordinate the delivery of down routes within their district.
    • Deliver down routes in a timely manner.
    • Help with the set up and stack down of the papers when necessary.
    • Contact all HD customers with service related complaints to assure that all problems are resolved quickly and professionally.
    • Personally deliver missed papers to customers when redelivery drivers are not available.
    • Assure that all paperwork is processed correctly and efficiently.
    • Run route lists for carriers and down routes when necessary.
    • Provide coverage for other District Managers at their warehouse when necessary.

    Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Must possess a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience. Media/Newspaper experience is preferred but not required.
    Supervisory Responsibility:
    • None.
    • Reports to the Zone Manager.
    • Works collaboratively with all circulation departmental teams to ensure that all delivery activity is executed per customer orders.
    Compensation:
    • Hourly/Salary plus commission.
    • Reimbursement of mileage

    General Purpose
    Supervise the Billing / Cash Coordinators for all Advertising Billing and Cash operations. Interface with all levels of management regarding Advertising Billing and Cash operations.

    Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
     Maintain established procedures for Advertising Billing, Adjustments, and Paper Reconciliation.
    • Insure the timely mailing of all Advertising Invoice Statements.
    • Maintain established procedures for Cash Receipts, Reporting and Cash Application.
    • Document current policies and procedures for the Advertising Billing & Cash Department and implement new procedures for improvements.
    • Oversee the metering of outgoing mail on a daily basis.

    Consults with:
    • All levels of management within Shared Financial Services – MI
    • All levels of management at properties and JRC corporate
    • Director of IT – Advertising
    • Billing / Cash Coordinators

    Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    Key Competencies:
     Intermediate working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook
     Supervisory experience in a corporate (production) environment
     Strong organizational skills
     Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
     Ability to analyze and adjust work procedures for changing environments and to maximum efficiency
     Ability to effectively translate complex information into common terms
     Strong sense of customer service
