Aretha Invites Singers, Musicians To Submit Audition Tapes For Label

Who needs Simon Cowell? Aretha Franklin is looking to mentor and sign “classically trained” singers and musicians to her record company Aretha’s Records.

The Queen of Soul invites unsigned performers to submit tapes and DVDs to her, and she will choose the winners, and personally work with the ones she chooses.

No phone calls, Franklin advises, but singers and musicians should send a CD, DVD or cassette tape on which they are performing an already-published song (original material is not allowed), labeled with the performer’s name, and including an 8 by 10 inch color photograph and a short biography, to:

Aretha’s Records

c/o Thav, Gross, Steinway & Bennett

30150 Telegraph Road

Bingham Farms, MI 48012.

Phone calls will not be accepted.
