Aretha Franklin is performing her first local concert in two years and she’s ready to belt out the hits.
Franklin spoke to Action News Anchor Diana Lewis just ahead of Thursday night’s show. She says she’s happy to be performing at home.
“It is absolutely special. There is nothing else like it and seeing old friends and making new friends, and this — at this point it is about my 11th or 12th concert set, you know, since the surgery and all of that, and I am really having a good, good, good time,” said Franklin.
Franklin says fans can expect to hear all of the hits including “Respect,” “Think,” and songs from her new album, “Falling out of Love.”
“It’s going to be a real stand up in your seat party night,” said Franklin.
Franklin says there will be Brazilian dancers and even a surprise having something to do with the 4th of July.
