    What: Harlem native Teddy Riley was instrumental in the rise of New Jack Swing; R&B infused with Hip-Hop flavored beats. After making his move to VA he would influence a number of new producers, including VA natives Timbaland, Missy Elliott and production duo The Neptunes.
