DETROIT — M-39 (Southfield Freeway) In Oakland and Wayne Counties shut down and stay closed through late October.
The full freeway closure is between M-10 interchange in the city of Southfield and M-5 in Detroit.
From now until October crews will be working to reconstruct pavement, install utility and lighting upgrades, new barrier construction and bridge repairs.
During the closure traffic in both directions will be routed to US-24 (Telegraph Rd.). And the section between Grand River and Ford Road will have only a single lane open.
The ramp from east and west I-96 to northbound M-39 will close, The east and westbound I-96 ramp to southbound M-39 will reopen.
