Student Says Theft Was Prank
EAST LANSING, Mich. — A 19-year-old Michigan State University student faces possible charges after police said he pilfered 79 pairs of women’s panties.
East Lansing police said the man stole 15 pairs of thong underwear from a dormitory laundry room and was later found possessing additional stolen underwear.
Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor all 79 pairs of underwear were thongs. Police have been investigating since March 22, when someone reported the theft of 15 pairs of panties from the basement laundry room at West Akers Hall.
The man was arrested April 7, when a student saw him stealing underwear from a dryer at the same dorm.
The man told police it was a prank and denied having a sex addiction.
He was released pending a review by Ingham County prosecutors.
