DETROIT – Police are investigating the shooting deaths of three men and wounding of another outside a house on Detroit’s west side.
Spokesman John Roach says Tuesday that two of the dead men were 22, the third was 29. A 22-year-old man was shot in the hip and was in temporary serious condition.
Police say the shootings took place about 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Investigators were not certain what prompted the gunfire, but different weapons appear to have been used. Shell casings were found in another part of the neighborhood.
Hours earlier Police Chief Warren Evans announced that homicides in the city were down. He credited targeted operations in high-crime areas of Detroit.
